Description
View north showing the bomb damage which occurred on the night of 25 April 1942 mainly affecting Beechen Cliff Place. The terraces down Holloway on the left are also considerably damaged, losing roofs etc. On the left further down the hill towards the Lower Bristol Road, a roof displays a sign for J Fosters shopfitting who had premises on the Ambury. In the distance and above Queen's Parade Place is the tower of St Andrew's church, later to be firebombed on Sunday 27 April and subsequently demolished. On the reverse: A photographers stamp in pale purple- 'A G Bolwell, 8 George St., Bath' B&W
