Description
A view looking south-west from Railway Street/Stanley Road towards Beechen Cliff. The foreground is a demolition site in preparation for the development of the Bus Station with the Electric Light Station complex on Dorchester Street beyond. To the left is the tower of St Mark's Church with the serried ranks of the the Calton Road terraces beyond. On the right is the west side of Newark Street with three identified premises: at the corner, G Williams & Sons, monumental masons; at no. 1 Bath Wholesale Grocers Ltd. and at no. 3, the Station Garage. On the reverse: A photographers stamp in pale purple- 'A G Bolwell, 8 George St., Bath' and part of a scribbled note in pencil (illegible). B&W
