Description
View from the path at the rear of No 13 Bathwick Hill looking slightly north of west towards the centre of Bath. The chimney tops in the foreground are of Sydney Buildings. From the left, the notable buildings are: the church and tower of St John's RC church, South Parade, with Bath Country Cricket ground in the foreground contained by the elevated GWR line into Bath Spa station. Towards the centre of the view is Bath Abbey, left of which are the flats known as Rosewell Court. Beyond these is the remaining gas holder at Windsor Bridge. To the right is the bulk of the Empire Hotel standing on Grand Parade with Pulteney Bridge to the right. The rugby ground riverside stand actually obscures a view of the river. The foreground is occupied by the chimney pots of Sydney Buildings. B&W
