Description
Photograph of the west front of No 41 Gay Street. There is a small sign to the left of the semi-circular corner at ground floor level advertising "F. S. Ingle, Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public. Entrance and Letters →". The doorcase is Ionic and the arched entrance has a grotesque mask keystone. The façade is festooned with cast iron drainage pipework of a variety of sizes. A female behatted pedestrian strides up the hill. On the reverse are stamps by the photographer in purple ink "Photograph by George Konig A.R.P.S" and "Copyright Keystone Press Agency Ltd. Phones: Central 9634-5-6-7-8 4/7 Red Lion Court, Fleet St. London E.C.4" and a Serial No stamp "5487" and a note in pencil "41 Gay Street". B&W
