Description
Photograph of the south end of Gay Street Nos 41 on the corner and No 40 which is scaffolded for repair or renovation. Gay Street turns into Old King Street with No 41 as the hinge, designed by John Wood the Elder and built in 1734-36. The string course above the ground floor windows on the semi-circular corner of 41 carries the name "Morgan & Co Insurance Brokers". A traffic wardeness stands on the south side of Old King Street beside a large group of pedestrians. Behind her parked on the north side of Old King Street is a Citroën GS estate car. On the reverse a note in pencil: "41". B&W
