Description
A close-up of the badly eroded Ionic frieze of Nos. 8 and 9 Circus, undergoing restoration as viewed from the scaffolding. Some ashlar blocks have been removed from the architrave revealing the rubble stone core of the wall. Eroded capitals much in evidence. On the reverse: a note in black ink- '65/2', a note in blue biro 'Sept 65', a note in pencil '2' and a note in black biro '8-9 Circus'. B&W
