Description
Detail of the left hand ground floor window and Doric frieze above of No 22 The Circus before restoration. The blackened stonework around the window reveals a shadow of the Edwardian shutter hood since removed. The restored column on the left belongs to No 21. The restoration work will include works to the railings which show extensive corrosion. The window sash is of Victorian design with central mullions. Both windows maintain privacy with half-net curtains. On the reverse notes in blue biro: "22-23 Circus contrast between cleaned and dirty stonework". B&W
