Description
Photograph of the Mayor of Bath, Sydney Arthur Smith, and the Mayoress, at a presentation of the restoration work being undertaken at the Circus. The mason carver, Walter Crang, stands beside a Corinthian capital with a sign saying "being carved for fixing at No 6 Circus" (possibly his work). Below the capital are a selection of his tools of the trade. In the background is a painting of the Circus looking north as viewed from No 20. On the left is another Corinthian capital labelled as 200 years old, being replaced at No 15 "Crescent". On the reverse is a photographer's stamp in purple: A.R. Wingrove (photographer), 11 Melrose Terrace, Bath. B&W
