Description
The bottom half of a panoramic view over the centre of Bath taken from Calton Road looking north-east with the north side of Holloway in the foreground- the Gothic-windowed first floor of no. 90 is seen on the left. Paradise Street (since demolished) drops steeply down to its junction with Lower Bristol Road. The GWR railway is seen above the foreground roofs- Bath Spa station is off to the right. A neatly parked row of coaches in the Bus Station appears beyond the roofs of terraced housing on Lower Bristol Road. on th right of the photograph, Holloway continues downhill and in the cluster of buildings is the public house, the 'Young Fox'. at the bottom right corner is an impessed stamp of 'Cyril Howe Studios, Bath'. On the reverse: a blue stamp advertising 'Cyril Howe Studios, 38 Milsom Street, Bath Copyright Neg. No. V/130 (in pencil)'. B&W
