Description: Photograph of the hotel premises 9 and 10 viewed from the south side of the street. The original stone gatepost is seen on the left but the adjoining section of rubblestone boundary wall has been demolished. The low hedge to Bathwick Street still exists. The gable wall of Powlett Court is seen beyond the hotel car parking boundary wall. There are 5 quadrant striped awnings on the ground floor windows, side window and the front entrance of the hotel. All 3 storeys of the main hotel building are visible while the rear part of the hotel (No 9) comprises a 2 storey section and a single storey extension at the rear. To the right is No 11, a 3 storey property with mansard. On the reverse are notes in blue biro: 'Avon Hotel, Bathwick Street. 27 November 1979' and in black biro 'Photograph referred to in my report dated 4 September 1981' signed 'J. W. Sharman'. B&W
