Description
Photograph of Pinch's Folly archway. This is a Baroque revival archway designed by - possibly - William Pinch, son of John Pinch. It has a serpentine pediment and side wings flanked by large scroll brackets. The keystone is carved with the arms of Powlett, Duke of Cleveland in 1864. The arch is surmounted by a restored vase. The archway is backed by overgrown woodland. On the reverse are notes in black biro '30th Nov 70 Pinch's Folly Bathwick St. Vase restored by Maurie V. Sheppard & Son Ltd.' B&W
