Description
Photograph of George's House on George's Place, the shop premises of Mills & Son, Bakers & Confectioners. On the left is the single storey premises of Bathwick Hill Garage adjacent to the Kennet and Avon canal. George's Place is a rank of shops (1822-23), since replaced initially by a car showroom business (1972-73) which replaced the Victorian police station. A car is parked in front of the Victorian police station. This is part of an estate agent advertisement for the sale of George's House on George's place. On the reverse is the advertisement and part of the photograph of the premises described overleaf. There are words saying "Georges House, Georges Place (formerly Messrs. Mills and Son) ...bristling with great potential and ripe for redevelopment (subject to planning permission)". B&W
