Description
A view of the west gable of the Domestic Science College from Brougham Hayes. (this building has had many uses- from 1937 the City of Bath Domestic Science Training College, later the City of Bath Technical School and, by 1970 Culverhay School.) The two-storeyed construction is of coursed rubble stone with dressed quoins and window and door surrounds. The metal windows are of 8 over 12 panes with pivoted or side-hung casements. This gable has a steep pitch over the three first floor windows. A single-storey extension is seen adjoining on the right and the rubble stone boundary wall to Brougham Hayes is in the foreground. On the front is a typed label: 'Side elevation of Domestic Science College from Brougham Hayes.' On the reverse: a sketch in pencil of a section of sheet piling. B&W
