Description
A view of the lower east side of Broad Street with the top of the street curving towards the junction with George Street/Lansdown Road. The shop premises on view are Nos 40, James Rossiter, nos. 38/39 Broad Street (possibly 1709 but date stone removed), east side, the premises of Weaver & Son Ltd., Carpet retailers, occupying a four-storeyed and twin-gabled building with quoins and heavy bolection moulding surrounds and string courses at each floor level. A glass street lantern is attached at second floor level. Next door at no.37 is the premises of Bath Pet Shop & Aquaria, a three-storey plus attic plain-fronted building. A couple with a pram and a young son are standing looking in the window of James Rossiter. There are cars parked on the right hand side and a van and car going up the road. On the photograph there are pencil notes indicating the premises 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37. B&W
