Description
A view of the lower end of the east side of Broad Street seen from the corner of Green Street- the Oliver Inn is on the left. The west side of St. Michael's Church (George Phillips Manners, 1834-7), is on the right and abutting the church, at no. 42, is the Saracen's Head (c. 1700 but dated 1713). On left the shop with a white fascia is the premises at nos. 3-6, Monk & co. Baby carriage dealers. Beyond, the street winds up to its junction with Paragon and Lansdown Road. Pencil notes on the photograph indicate premises numbered '40, 41, 41A and 42'. B&W
