Description
A view of the north side of Beauford Square viewed from the corner of Barton Street and Trim Street. In the distance is the bend of Princes' Street to its junction with Monmouth Street. The street is in a state of dilapidation and notably No 21 appears empty. (No 21 in 1778 was a pub called The Tankard. It closed around 10 years later). Near to its corner with Barton Street it carries the advertisement of 'J Vince, cabinetmaking and French polishing'. On the reverse is a note in pencil: 'Alan Crozier-Cole, One Belmont, Bath Oct 62' and a photographer's stamp: 'PHOTOGRAPHED BY T.C. LEAMAN, 7 THE CORRIDOR, BATH, PHONE 3343'. B&W
