Description
A view of the cottages on the east side of the Square viewed from the west lawn. The architect is John Strahan. The two-storied cottages have a Doric entablature with a triglyph frieze and Doric segmental pediments on brackets over the doors. The east side is no longer original and now includes a mansard roof. This range abuts the north side of the Theatre Royal. On the right is the lawn surrounded by the gated railings and overthrow which are Regency period (George Dance the Younger). On the left is a view up Trim Street and the backs of Milsom Street. The bell tower of Bluecoat House on Saw Close is visible over the mansard roof. On the reverse is a note in pencil: 'Beaufort [sic] Sq. 1965'. B&W
