Description
Photograph of Nos 2-5 Beaufort East viewed from Grosvenor Place with the turning into St Saviour's Way on the left. This time the lawn has been restored and hedging to the terrace is quite new. The gas control station and truncated gas lamp column are seen on the left. The terrace is typical of its time - 3 storeys and a mansard with Tuscan door cases and pediments. No 5 has an Edwardian style canopy and balcony at first floor level. Nos 2-5 have a painted ground floor storey. The terrace is typical of its time, ca 1790. Several cars are parked in the street in front of the terrace and a man and a child are seen exiting No 3. No 4 was a veterinary surgery which may have extended into the ground floor of No 3. The boy appears to be holding a box in front of him - possibly a pet? B&W
