Mr H. G. Massingham's, owner of Bath Gas Light and Coke Company, application for consent to be allowed to present a petition to the Board of Trade for a license under the Electric Lighting Acts 1882 and 1888 for the supply of electric light to certain parts of the city for public and private purposes. Consent was given by the Board of Trade and Mr Massingham was bound to commence the lighting by electricity of the 81 arc lamps on the 25 March 1890. (See also BC/2/1/6/2/6).
