Sub-Committee received memorials from 49 workmen in the employment of the Surveying Committee asking that they might be placed on equal terms in respect of wages with other masons and labourers in the employment of the Sanitary Committee. Also received 23 memorials from workmen in the employment of the Scavenging Committee requesting an increase in wages and extra payment in term of overtime.
The Committee recommended that all men in the employment of the Sanitary and Surveying Committees be paid by the hour and subject to loss of time and that the ordinary time for ceasing work on Saturdays will be one o'clock with over time being paid if necessary, outlining what wage each type of worker would receive.
