Description
County and County Borough Councils took over responsibility for rating assessment from Boards of Guardians in 1929. When it took over from the Bath Board of Guardians, Bath City Council continued to use the minute book which had been started by the Guardians Assessment Committee in 1924, and this volume therefore contains minutes both pre- and post- 1929. The minutes of the Board of Guardians Assessment Committee for the period 1862-1923 can be found at BGB/6/1.

The Committee dealt mainly with appeals against rating assessment decisions
