Description
Comprising of minutes, financial records, registers of burials, administrative records and legal records. Twerton Burial Board was established in 1880 by the parish vestry under the Burial Act of 1853 (16 &17 Vict. c. 134). Land was purchased at Bellott's Road and the cemetery was opened in 1881. The powers of Twerton Burial Board were transferred to the Town Clerk's Office in 1911, under the City Boundaries Extension Act of that year.
