Comprising of minutes, burial registers and certificates, financial and administrative records, headstone designs, legal papers and orders for interment. Lyncombe and Widcombe Burial Board was set up by the parish vestry in a meeting of the 18 May 1859 under the Burial Act of 1853 (16 &17 Vict. c. 134). St James's Burial Board was established by the same means simultaneously but the two Boards merged in June 1859. Land was purchased near to Lower Bristol Road for a cemetery in 1859 for the parishes of Lyncombe and Widcombe and St. James. The cemetery opened in 1862. The Burial Board was taken over by Bath City Council, Town Clerk's department under the City Boundaries Extension Act in 1911, at which point the Minutes held here cease.
