Physical Description:
The initial ‘H’ in ‘Henricus’ is embellished in pen and ink, with the lobe of the initial filled with curvilinear foliate flourishes. Certain ascenders and initial letters in the top line are elongated.

Width 66cm x height 9cm.

Seal:
The Great Seal is pendent by cords. It is slightly worn and damaged around the edge, although the legend remaining largely intact. It is the seal referred to as the ‘silver seal’ of Henry VI by Benjamin and Alfred Wyon in ‘The Great Seals of England: From the Earliest Period to the Present Time’.
