Description: Grant in response to a petition from the Bishop of Bath and Wells, confirming that he and his successors may continue to hold two weekly markets in Bath, one on Wednesday and one on Saturday, during the period from the feast of St. Calixtus [14 October] to Palm Sunday. Additionally, the right is granted to also hold these markets from Palm Sunday to the feast of St. Calixtus. The markets may sell woollen cloth and all other goods, provided they do not negatively impact neighbouring markets.

Physical Description:
A space has been left blank for the initial ‘E’ in ‘[E]dwardus’ at the start of the text and certain ascenders and initial letters in the top line are elongated and looped with flourishes.

Seal:
The Great Seal is pendent by cords. There is a good impression, with some damage along the edge, particularly at the top where the legend is lost. This is the fourth seal ‘of presence’ of Edward III.
