Description: Photograph of a "dhobi ghat", a large washing area. The clothes and sheets are laid out on the grass while dhobi wallahs attend to them and some hang on a rotary clothes airer. In the background is a long single storey possibly barracks building (possibly the same one as which has a covered area on each side fronted by a colonnade with a stone balustrade between pairs of columns. At the far end of the block is a tall chimney.
