Description: Photograph of a mixed group of Indian servants, possibly a family, standing in front of a house. Two of them hold babies and two young girls stand in the foreground, while a pregnant woman stands in the doorway. There is a pile of washing in front of her. In the centre is a tall man, possibly the head of the family wearing a long dark jacket. They are all barefoot. The building behind them is single storey with a broad tiled roof which has many ventilating tiles. The large window openings, high under the eaves, have a decorative infill of semi-circular ridge tiles.
