Description
Photograph showing soldiers viewing the Obelisk in Seringapatem, a memorial to British soldiers killed in the battle of Seringapatem. This is a memorial to British and Indian soldiers who died during the Siege of Seringapatem in 1799, commemorating the final battle of the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War where Tipu Sultan was killed, built by the Mysore Government in 1907 with inscribed plaques listing fallen officers and casualties, topped by cannonballs. It is built off the fort walls on higher ground.
