Description
Photograph of the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, a Hindu navaratna (nine-towered temple) situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly river, Kolkata. It was built between 1847 and 1855. The presiding deity of the temple is Bhavatarini, an aspect of the goddess Kali. Two soliders stand in the foreground, one with a small Zebu.
