Description
Photograph showing six men posing outside on the steps of a barracks at Barrackpore.

Two of the men are sitting on the steps and they are the only ones facing the camera. One of the seated men is smoking a cigarette whilst hugging a dog, whilst another dog lays on the steps. Of the four men stood on the steps, two are holding rifles.

The building is typical of army barracks in India; probably named after Ishapore where the Rifle factory, built by the British in 1904, produced the Lee-Enfield rifle for the army.
