In 1845 William Comer acquired the property. In 1846 William Comer mortgaged the property to Benjamin Comer for £3,100. In 1849 William Comer mortgaged to Benjamin Comer for a further £750. In 1851 William Comer sold the property to Henry Oatway. £3,800 was paid by Henry Oatway to Benjamin Comer, which paid off most of William Comer’s mortgage. Bounded on the north by a lane called Field Lane, on the west by Jack Hick’s Lane, on the east by land of Henry Lyne Esq, & on the south by other property being bought by Henry Oatway, viz, Nos 1490, 1491, 1492 on the tithe map & several closes of land being piece of land called Home Ground, bounded on the north by 1490, 1491, 1492, on the west by Jack Hick’s Lane, on the east by Edward Lynes land& on the south by the other land intended to be granted called Great Gastons, 1496, & close of arable land called Farm Acre 1446, Great Gastons 1519, Little Gastons 1520, Ten Acres 1523, Upper Down 1525, Little Down 1526, part of Middle Field 1536 & 1539, The Paddock 1541, Kennel Ground, 1542, Round Hills 1551, Butchers Ground 1558, pasture called Boyds Lane 1559, with all the Tithes from the above.
