Apprenticeship arranged by the Churchwardens for 4 years. £10 paid from the John Bowles Charity to 4 to be trained in the Art, Trade or Mystery of a Builder etc. To be paid weekly as follows;
1st year – 7s 6d; 2nd year – 12s 6d; 3rd year – 17s 6d; 4th year – 20s. Gets 4 days holiday with no stoppage of wages, e.g. Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday & Whit Monday. Food & lodgings to be provided by the parent.
