Description
Reciting will of Johane Lyne bequeathing amongst other things, to William Lyne, her son, all household goods not otherwise bequeathed & 1 close of pasture, 3 acres at end of orchard called Heavers, & to Mary Edolls, her daughter, 3 messuages or tenements in Keynsham, wherein John Green, maltster, Andrew Meclare, William Shephard, glover dwell, for residue of any term of years for her lifetime. Also, all household goods in said 3 houses & house Johane Lyne lives in at her decease.
Giving to Richard Champion, Brice Webb & Alexander Arscott, all of Bristol, the sum of £1000 in trust to invest for the benefit of Mary Edolls for her sole use. Another £1000 was to be used to purchase property or lands, the profits to be paid to Mary Edolls during the lifetimes of her & her husband, for her sole use & after her decease to any children of said Mary Edolls. In the absence of any children it goes to William Lyne. She gives to Champion, Webb & Arscott, a messuage or tenement in Wine St, Bristol, in the occupation of John Cossly, goldsmith, & shop adjoining on east side, in trust for Richard Edolls, to receive rent for term of his life then after his death to Mary Edolls & their children.
Appoints William Lyne & Mary Edolls as executors of her will.
Whereas above will was not legally binding (due to no signature) all parties concerned agreed to follow it & other arrangements.
Administered estate, but found £292 1s 5d short. The sum of £1,707 18s 7d transferred from William to his sister Mary.
