Description
A series of modern, large-scale plans showing in great detail the historic development of properties in the centre of Bath. The plans show basements and ground floor layouts at different time periods from Roman times to the present day. They are based on a wide range of historic plans and maps which are superimposed on current Ordnance Survey maps. They have been drawn using CAD software, and have been given to the Record Office in two formats: in electronic format as PDFs on a CD, and printed out as hard-copy plans. As this is to some extent a 'work in progress', minor changes may have been made after the hard copy plans were printed out and before the PDFs were made. One significant change is the title of the project; the correct title is now 'City of Bath Historic Buildings Survey'.

Scale 1:200 at A0

The plans are of immense value to house historians, students of architecture and town planning, and those studying the development of the built heritage of Bath, as well as to those planning building alterations and developments.

The research was carried out and the plans drawn by Derek Rowe, MCIOB.
