Mortgage, 4 June 1821
1. Dame Martha Rivers Gay, of Winchester, c.Southampton, Widow.
2. George Brettell, of Alsop's Buildings, p. Marylebone, c. Middlesex, Esq.

Annual rent charge of £42, as secured in 0810/1/71.
All that messuage in a row of buildings called Belvedere in Lansdown Road, p. Walcot, distinguished by the number 39, now in the occupation of Mrs Elizabeth Davis, Shoemaker. And all that other messuage, adjoining the last, being 38 Belvedere, now in the occupation of Samuel Young, Tailor. And all that piece of ground adjoining 39 Belvedere, now used as a Mason's yard. All which said messuages and yard were demised by Dame Martha Rivers Gay to Anthony Clement, p. Walcot, by lease, 17 December 1818 for 50 years, at £45 p.a.
All that plot of ground (7a.1r.7p), p. Walcot, near East Hayes and the turnpike road from Bath to London, demised by lease, 5 October 1792, for 99 years at £91.7s. p.a.
Plot of pasture ground (6a.1r.2p.), situate behind Queen's Parade and part of the Crescent Field, p. Walcot, demised to the Misses Mason by lease, 30 may 1808 for 20 years at £75.12.6p p.a.
All those pieces of land adjoining thereto called the Crescent Fields and Crescent Field Gardens, 22a.1r.38p., now in several occupations and at several rents amounting to the annual sum of £506, together with all houses, buildings and gardens thereon.

Whereas the principle sum of £6000 remains unpaid, but all interest thereon has been paid.
Whereas Dame Martha Rivers Gay having occasion for a further £4000, has applied to George Brettell to lend her the same, George Brettell having agreed.
Whereas Dame Martha Rivers Gay, has become bound in the sum of £8000 to George Brettell, to be void on the repayment of £4000.
Premises as within to stand charged with the further sum of £4000.
