These records have historically been identified by Solicitors as relating to the same property, however, the 1742 'Map of 5 miles around Bath' identifies the property of 'Mr Chapman', owner of the Lyncombe Farm at that time, as being in Lyncombe Vale Road not on Bloomfield Road. The site of Lyncombe Farm is now occupied by the property known as Lyncombe Hall. The 'Westfield' afterwhich Westfield Cottage, originally Westfield Villa, is named is shown by the documents to have been a part of the Lyncombe Farm Estate.
