Whereas the said recited indenture was executed by William James in the name and on the behalf of Samuel James his brother, who was then abroad, by virtue of a Power of Attorney.
Whereas Robert William Carpenter has since paid off the mortgage debt of £3508.18.10d and all interest thereon.
Whereas it was agreed that the Power of Attorney should remain in the custody of the said William James.
