Richard Harris of the City of Bath, Carpenter and Builder, and the several other persons who have subscribed their names and affixed their seals or shall subscribe their names and affix their seals to these presents.
Whereas 1. was seized in Fee of a plot of land, part of a larger parcel called the Lower Furlong, p. Walcot, bounded on the northeast by a road leading from the Bath and London Turnpike Road to and by the side of erections or buildings called the Centre Pile of Beaufort Buildings, and did some time since project a design to erect and build upon such plot of land a row or pile of buildings to be called Beaufort Buildings West, and to allot to each dwelling house ground for gardens in the front and at the ``rear thereof. Whereas at the southwest extremity of the said plot three messuages or dwelling houses have been already built by and are in the occupation of the said Thomas Hobbs, John Tanner, and John Tyler. Whereas it is intended forthwith to carryout and execute the plan and design of the said John Tanner, and with such view Richard Harris and the parties of 3. have contracted and agreed with John Tanner to purchase from him the freehold and inheritance of and in one or more plot or plots of ground to be apportioned from the aforesaid plot, and to erect and build thereon messuages or dwelling houses intended to range in a line with the three dwelling houses already erected, the said row or pile of buildings to be erected to be called Beaufort Buildings West. Plans and elevations of the said intended row of buildings annexed to the original hereof.
Covenant between the parties of 3. and John Tanner, that 3. shall build or erect within 15 calendar months a messuage or messuages as agreed with John Tanner in manner such that they range in a line with the said three messuages already erected, are faced on the front or southeast side in free stone, and roofed or covered in lead and blue slate tiling; the fronts to be built in accordance with the design of John Tanner.
