Custodial History
The Bath Vigilance Association was founded as the Bath Vigilance and Rescue Association in 1912, it changed its name to the Bath Vigilance Association in 1950. It was an association for the promotion of morals in society and was linked with the national Vigilance Association. It ran a girls home first at 9 Southcot Place on Lyncombe Hill (1912-1920) and then at 12 Walcot Parade (1920-1956) which it used to help girls and young women in need of assistance.
