Description
1.) I Mary Jenkins of the city of 2.) Bath in the county of Somerset widow being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding Do make publish and declare this to be my 3.) last Will & testament in manner following (that is to say) First I Give my cousin John Cheesman of the city of Gloucester taylor and to 4.) his three sons the sum of one hundred pounds equally to be divided between them I also Give to Mary Swain of the said city of 5.) Gloucester widow my cousin and to her three daughters the sum of one hundred pounds equally to be divided between them 6.) I also Give to Mrs Amy Tofte of the said city of Bath spinster the sum of twenty pounds and also my small bureau and 7.) small elbow chair and my bible and Common Prayer book with silver clasps I also Give to Mrs Catherine Morgan of the 8.) said city of Bath spinster the sum of twenty pounds and my great easy chair I also Give to Mr John Thomas of the city 9.) of Bristol corn factor my silver pint mug I also Give to Mrs Mary Davenport wife of Peter Davenport of the said city of 10.) Bath victualler the sum of thirty pounds I also Give to Mrs Jane Shipway wife of William Shipway of the said city of 11.) Bath barber the sum of twenty pounds I also Give to my cousin Hester of Chippenham whose maiden name 12.) was Hester Swain the sum of ten pounds I also Give to Ann Butcher wife of John Butcher of North 13.) Bradley weaver the sum of ten pounds I also Give to Thomas Masters of the said city of Bath labourer if living at 14.) my death the sum of five pounds I also Give to the three daughters of my said cousin Mary Swain all my 15.) wearing apparel china and glass equally to be divided between them I also Give to the three sons of my said cousin John 16.) Cheesman all my table linen and books equally to be divided between them I also Give to the said John Cheesman one of my white 17.) quilts I also Give to Mrs Sarah Tofte of Mangotsfield spinster a white quilt and my silver half pint cup I also Give to each 18.) of the sons of my cousin the said John Cheesman and to each of the three daughters of my said cousin Mary Swain a silver table spoon and to 19.) the said three daughters of the said Mary Swain I Give my six tea spoons tea tongs and silver cream saucepan to be equally divided between 20.) them I also Give to Mr John Hart of the parish of Mells in the county of Somerset stocking maker the sum of twenty pound I also Give all 21.) that my part or share in the waterworks at Chelsea to the said John Hart his heirs executors administrators and assigns for all my estate right and 22.) interest therein. All the rest residue and remainder of my ready money securities for money goods chattels estates and effects of what nature or kindsoever 23.) and wheresoever not herein before disposed of after payment of all my just debts the said legacys and funeral expenses I Givedevise and bequeath unto Mr 24.) Joseph Glasier of the said city of Bath coachmaster his heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively And I Do hereby nominate constitute and appoint 25.) the said Joseph Glasier whole and sole executor of this my last Will & testament hereby revoking and making void all former & other Wills by me at any 26.) time or times heretofore made and I do hereby publish and declare this to be my last and only Will & testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand 27.) and seal this twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy - Mary Jenkins . Signed sealed published & declared 28.) by the said testatrix as and for her last Will & testament in the presence of us who in her presence & in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses 29.) thereto the gift of the legacy of ten pounds to Ann Butcher being first above interlined.
