Built after the 1885 surveys for the 1888 Ordnance Survey map, initially Claude Avenue appears to have encompassed Coronation Avenue as well but is assumed to have been renamed sometime around the coronation of Edward VII in 1901, before the revisions were made for the 1904 Ordnance Survey map which is marked Coronation Avenue.
