Whereas William Palmer by virtue of an indenture of Lease, 22 June 1688 1. John Hall of Bradford, c. Wilts, Esq., since dec'd 2. John Slingar, city of Bath, Glover and by several assignments thereof William Palmer became possessed of the messuages or tenements hereinafter mentioned to be released for the residue of a term of 99 years determinable on the lives of Thomas Slingar and Mary Kains formerly Slingar. Whereas William Palmer has contracted with the Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull for a conveyance of the reversion and inheritance of the said messuages or tenements hereinafter mentioned at a perpetual yearly rent charge of £6.10s
From 1. to 2. all that new erected tenement formerly one lower room, one chamber above the said lower room, and one cockloft over the said chamber, in p. St. James, city of Bath, between a gate formerly called the Abbey Gate on the north, a tenement called the Coachhouse now belonging to Catherina Jones, Spinster, on the south, a backside formerly of John Orange on the east, and the Leere land on the west; now in the occupation of the said William Palmer. And also a plot of ground belonging to the above mentioned messuage, lying behind the messuage above mentioned to be in possession of Catherina Jones, which said plot of ground is also in the occupation of Catherina Jones, and containing 15 feet 4 inches on the west, 24 feet 10 inches on the north, 24 feet on the south, and 17 feet on the east.
Consideration: a surrender by William Palmer of the said messuage or tenement and all his term and interest therein, the sum of £30, and the annual rent charge of £6.10
