All that messuage in Hewewoode wherein Barnard Pynney, father of the said John Pynney, sometimes dwelled and where John Pynney and Robert Pynney his brother now dwell,with the appurtenances thereunto belonging called Barbye Close, Two Acres, Stronge Close, Whiteles, Kyecroft, Alle Whiteley, Kode Close, Woodley, Wocombe Woode, Varney Close, Varney Close Moore, Blacklands Woode, the nether Blackland Meade, Foxplot Meade, and Portways Meade, all situate in the p. Thorncombe aforesaid. All late in the tenure of John Pynney, bounded with the lands of Sir Amyas Pawtell, Knight, dec'd, on the north, the lands of Sir Thomas Freke, Knight, and the lands of the said Alexander Walker on the northeast, southeast, and west, and a way called Portway also on the west, and the lands now of the Lord Cob James on the south.
